The Purple Beverage Company launched their acai juice product Purple at the end of 2007. The company's website posts "The Purple Promise" stating "Our founder, Ted Farnsworth and our Purple team promise that you will always enjoy a natural, no sugar added healthful beverage that will continue to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to the health drink market. We will never compromise the quality or purity of PurpleTM... EVER! So.... Drink Purple... It's All Good!"
Purple already has a growing number of celebrity spokes people (listed below) and makes a claim to be "The Most Powerful Antioxidant Beverage on the Planet!". The Purple Beverage Company promotes their "Cascade Effect" in which its drink uses a combination of fruits, including the acai berry, containing an assortment of antioxidants that boost one another through interaction, pumping up their antioxidant power past their individual nutritional strength.
The Purple juice product contains no added sugar and lists 7 fruits in its ingredients. The acai berry is the first on their list and they state it has the highest ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capability) value in the juice. The total combination of fruits and berries in the Purple juice is the acai berry, blueberry, black cherry, pomegranate, blackcurrant, purple plum, and cranberry. Vitamin C is the only other added ingredient listed.
