Acai #2 in the top ten flavor forecast for 2008

Acai will be the 2nd most popular sweet flavor trend in 2008 according to Bell Flavors and Fragrances. The company released today what it believed to be the top ten trends in sweet and savory flavors.

Topping the sweet list was Mango, followed by acai, lychee, pomegranate, mint, blueberry, verbena, goji, noni and guarana. Bell stated that these flavors will be common in the beverage, confectionery, bakery and dairy markets.

Bell tracked last year's sample requests and "trend scouting" to compile the list.

Bell's findings which highlighted a trend towards new and interesting exotic food & fruits such as Acai, reinforced similar findings by other market analysts including Business Insights, Datamonitor and McCormick.
